Established Businesses
To get started working with your company, we will need to assess the current state of your accounting processes to get a better understanding of your business operations.
Stage 1 – Discovery/Assessment
This step involves getting initial access to an established business’s accounting files to determine the level of work necessary on an ongoing basis. This part of the process is necessary to gain insight into the details of your accounts (chart of accounts, bank and credit cards, etc.) that need to be reconciled monthly. It will also allow us to assess if any data needs to be adjusted or cleaned up before we get more involved with a client. This stage will also grant us with the required information so we can get more familiar with the business and its processes.

Stage 2 – Cleanup/Organizing Data
Based on experience, many clients who do not have an experienced bookkeeper may have data that requires thorough review, which means there is a certain level of effort needed to bring all accounts current and to clean up potential data inaccuracies in the accounting files. It is also necessary to process the monthly account reconciliations to ensure the data is recorded accurately and completely.
Once the cleanup and organizing of your data is complete, you can continue receiving ongoing accounting services for your company - see Ongoing Accounting Services below.
New Businesses
When starting a new business, we can help you set up your accounting processes. To set up a new business, we must obtain all the necessary documentation for the new business. Our preferred setup is to use Quickbooks Online, however we can start-up a new company using any of the client’s preferred platforms.
The documentation needed depends on the type of registration for the business (i.e. sole proprietor, partnership, incorporated). Here is a sample list of items that would be requested:
-
HST/GST registration papers
-
Business registration (provincial)
-
Payroll & employee files
-
Incorporation documents
-
Banking and Credit Card information
Once your accounting processes are set up, you can continue receiving ongoing accounting services for your company on a monthly or quarterly basis as needed - see Ongoing Accounting Services below.
When the accounting processes for your business are set up and organized we can provide monthly and quarterly services. Pricing for ongoing accounting services will be determined by your companies specific requirements.
